LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Badgerland Council Girl Scouts are adding a little oomph to their 108-year-old slogan of Do a good turn daily” — giving cookie fanatics on last chance to buy their favorites with contactless drive-through booths in three cities, including La Crosse, this weekend.
The novel coronavirus pandemic snagged annual Girl Scout cookie sales, so many fans of Thin Mints and other varieties didn’t get their bellies full, much less freezer stashes.
The La Crosse drive-through will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the previous location of Macy’s at Valley View Mall.
The event, which Badgerland Girl Scouts bill as the “FINAL Last Chance drive through cookie booth this weekend only!” will follow COVID-19 safety protocols with a contactless exchange of cookies and payment.
“Quantities are limited and our goal, as a nonprofit, is to get the quantity to zero,” the council said in a news release. “So when they are gone, they’re gone!”
All flavors except Peanut Butter Sandwiches will be available, including Thin Mints, Caramel DeLites and Lemonades.
“This is also your last chance to get Thank-A-Lots before they are gone forever,” the council noted.
Proceeds will go toward scholarship for Gold Award Girl Scouts.
The cost will be $20 for six boxes, and $40 for a dozen. Cash is preferred, although credit cards will be accepted.
Badgerland Girl Scouts will sponsor two other drive-throughs this weekend:
• Madison — 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Safelite near John Nolen Drive and Alliant.
• Janesville — 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at the Girl Scout Office at 3000 Milton Ave.
