After playing against each other not too long ago, we are back with another Eastern Conference matchup between two teams that have struggled to produce all season.
The Boston Celtics are going to be on the road in the south to take on the Hawks in Atlanta.
As the season has progressed further, we find both of these teams scraping to survive and it doesn’t seem like either are very good.
Boston has certainly taken a turn for the worse this season, and even though they have sprinkled in a win here and there it seems like the panic mode is on for Boston fans.
It was thought that the Celtics might be one of the teams to make it out of the Eastern Conference at the beginning of the year, but those hopes are long gone.
With Atlanta beating them a little while back, this will be a good road test for Boston to prove that they won’t go down without swinging.
Let’s break it down and determine your best bets.
Boston Celtics Betting Preview: What’s Beyond Their Dynamic Duo?
For Boston, the biggest story of their season should be Tatum and Brown’s progression to being two elite offensive and defensive players.
Instead, we have to focus on everything that does not involve those two: injuries galore, Kemba’s downfall, Brad Stevens’ coaching and more.
For this game against Atlanta, Smart will still be on the sidelines and Daniel Theis has a chance to be resting due to his lingering injuries.
That means Tristan Thompson and Robert Williams are going to have to step up in a big way to produce some numbers for this team.
Williams has shown some promise, but he needs to work on his defensive rotations in order to get more minutes for himself.
Atlanta Hawks Betting Preview: An Unlucky Year
If the Celtics have been struggling with injuries all season, Atlanta has experienced more of the same.
Their top draft pick, Okongwu, has barely been able to see the floor this season. Deandre Hunter was finally proving his value, but now has been out for an extended period of time.
All this, plus some questions surrounding their offense is causing trouble for Atlanta.
Last time they played Boston, they absolutely held control of the game from start to finish.
I would not be surprised to see Trae Young break out again and put up huge numbers without Marcus Smart there to guard him.
Celtics @ Hawks Betting Odds and Lines
Coming into this game, our friends at MyBookie have the Boston Celtics as road favorites in this one by 3.5 points.
I’m not too sure about this line and it is confusing how Atlanta does not draw the home favorite.

A part of me is sniffing a revenge game for this one. I think the Celtics are tired of the criticism and they will come out with a sense of urgency.
Beating this team after losing to them will be a big morale booster and I think they will pull away with this one.
